How to photograph and upload your entry

Judging is done only on what you send. There is no physical inspection — the judges see your photos and videos and nothing else. Shoot the full set correctly and your work is judged on its merit; shoot it loosely and you lose points you have already earned on the model.

The one rule everything else follows

Every BEFORE photo must have an identical AFTER. Same position, same angle, same framing, same distance, same light — so the judge compares the work, not the photography.

01

Mandatory photos

12 paired frames + the technical photo or, for Lash Lift, 4 side photos
1

Frontal

2 photos

Before

The model looks straight into the camera. No eye makeup, nothing applied to the lash area.

After

Exactly the same frame once the work is finished — same position, same framing.

Why Shows the face and eyes in a neutral reference position, then the final impact, overall symmetry and how the result sits on the face.

2

Lying down

2 photos

Before

Model lying down, white patches under the eyes, no mapping applied. Shot from above — from where you sit at the head — or slightly from behind.

After

The same position and the same angle, after the extensions are applied.

Why Documents the starting point and the working context with no pre-mapping visible, then compares start and finish under identical conditions.

3

Close-up, looking forward

4 photos

Before

Tight, sharp, well-focused frame with the model looking forward — one photo of the model's right eye, one of the left eye.

After

The same two frames after the work is finished, eye by eye.

Why Shows the natural lashes and their initial direction, then attachment, direction, evenness, density and separation side by side.

4

Close-up, looking up

4 photos

Before

Same tight frame, model looking upward — right eye and left eye, one photo each.

After

The same two frames after the work is finished, eye by eye.

Why Reveals the full length of the natural lashes and, afterwards, the upper line and the structure of the work.

02

The technical photo

extension nominations · a technical requirement, not an extra
Mandatory · all five extension nominations

One clear, detailed photo of the element you actually used in this work, so the judges can confirm that the material and the technique match the nomination the entry is registered in. Photograph it:

  • applied on the model's eye, or
  • held in the tweezers

Sharp, correctly focused and close enough to see its shape, opening, base, thickness and structure.

What the photo shows, by nomination

  • Classic 1Dthe 1D extension used
  • 2-3D Volumea 2-3D fan made by hand
  • Soft Volume 4-7Da 4-7D fan made by hand
  • Mega Volume +7Da +7D fan made by hand
  • Special Effectsevery spike, pre-made, Y, W, U-shape fan or other structure used — one photo each
Good to know
  • Lash Lift has no technical photo. Its four side photos (section 04) take that place.
  • Pre-made fans — Y, W, U-shape and other pre-formed shapes — are allowed only in Special Effects. In the Volume nominations every fan is made by hand during the work, and a pre-made fan there can lead to a penalty or disqualification.
  • The upload screen has one slot for the technical photo. If you used more than one structure in Special Effects, add the other technical photos as extra material.

Mandatory videos

one before, one after — the proof the transformation is real
Before

Overview video

Model lying down, eyes open, natural lashes. Film both eyes slowly and steadily, from one side to the other, so the starting point is clear and there are no previous extensions.

After

The finished work

The same overview once the work is done — same position, same distance, same light. Move slowly so attachment, evenness and direction can be seen.

Remember The before video documents the starting point and proves there are no previous extensions. The after video lets the judges check attachment, evenness and direction. The judges can only score what they can see — film slowly, hold the camera still, no sudden movements. No filters, no colour adjustments, no speed-ups and no cuts.

Sound The videos must keep you anonymous. No voices — yours, the model's or anyone in the background — no music, and no other sound that could identify you or the work. The simplest way: record without sound, or mute the clip before you upload it.

04

Lash Lift — side photos

only for this nomination, instead of the technical photo

On top of the before/after photos and the two videos, Lash Lift needs a set of side photos: one BEFORE and one AFTER for each eye, with the eye open. They show the natural curl before, the direction of the lashes and the lift obtained. Lash Lift has no technical photo.

Technical conditions

Not allowed

  • filters
  • retouching
  • colour correction
  • blur
  • beauty effects
  • speed-ups or visible cuts
  • sound in the videos — voices, music, anything that could identify you or the work
  • makeup anywhere near the eyes, including behind the lashes — this can be penalised
  • models with a cosmetic tattoo or permanent / semi-permanent pigmentation on the upper waterline or upper eyelid — not accepted

Required of every file

  • sharp and clear
  • well lit — daylight or professional studio light
  • correctly focused
  • no digital editing of any kind
  • stable camera, no harsh shadows or strong reflections

Editing of any kind is strictly forbidden and can lead to a penalty or disqualification.

Before you submit

  • All 12 paired photos present, each before matched by its after
  • Extension nominations: the technical photo, on the eye or in the tweezers, matching your nomination
  • Lash Lift: the 4 side photos instead of the technical photo
  • Both videos present — the before overview and the finished work — framed identically, with no sound
  • Nothing edited, filtered or retouched
  • No makeup, cosmetic tattoo or pigmentation in the eye area

You may send only the mandatory files, or add extra photos and videos up to 25 files per entry. Extras support your presentation — they never replace anything on this list.
